Submissions

We are currently seeking writers for publication by our press

  • At present, we are interested in full-length works of fiction only. This means novels and novellas rather than short stories, poetry collections, or individual pieces.

  • Our editorial taste leans toward literary fiction. That said, we are equally open to more commercial fiction if the writing is strong and the stories compelling. Darker works of sci-fi and speculative fiction are also of interest

  • We welcome submissions from writers of all backgrounds and experiences. However, we are particularly interested in hearing from older male writers who may have found it difficult to break into contemporary publishing. In recent years, the industry’s emphasis on diverse voices and historically underrepresented groups has created important opportunities for many writers, but it has also left some others feeling overlooked or out of step with current trends. We are interested in discovering writers whose voices may not currently fit the prevailing fashions of the publishing world.

  • Because we are a small independent press with limited editorial resources, we ask that submissions arrive in a highly developed and carefully edited state. Manuscripts accepted for publication should already have undergone substantial revision by the author and ideally be close to publication-ready. While some editorial input will form part of the publishing process, we are not currently able to take on early-stage drafts or works requiring extensive developmental editing.

  • Finally, we only accept original work written by the submitting author. Manuscripts generated wholly or substantially through the use of artificial intelligence will not be considered for publication. By submitting work to us, authors confirm that the manuscript is their own creative work and that any use of AI tools has been limited to minor assistance rather than the creation of the text itsel

  • Submissions should include: A synopsis of the workA brief author biography. The first three chapters (or approximately 10,000 words)

  • As part of your submission, please include details of any editorial work your manuscript has undergone, including developmental editing, copy-editing, proofreading, workshop feedback, or professional manuscript assessment. This information helps us understand the current stage of the work and whether it is realistically ready for consideration within the scope of our publishing capacity

  • Due to the volume of submissions we may not be able to respond to every manuscript individually, but all work will be read and considered carefully.
